Study Tips Help You Stay Focused
A few months after his arrival in Australia to start my masters , I found myself faced with difficult challenges in my first . I had a student work and the burden of poor research on my part has been proved to be a bit ' too much to handle . But I still do quite well, sort through stacks of notes, navigate two or three books at a time and slowly prepare homework, so I will not go crazy when the time comes around.
Now, before we go any further, I must say that I am a sports fan and want to play the game indoors and outdoors . If someone told me that Arsenal had lost I would show them my latest version of FIFA in 2013 and defeat any opponent of their choice ( with the difficulty set to ' ease ' of course). I would also like to watch movies , so you do not miss any opportunity to go to the movies - especially when I can get the student discount .
If anyone is even talk of any of the benefits , I 'm easily distracted and lose focus of my research. And that's exactly what happened ! The result ? I had fun , fitness and social opportunities. Everything sounds good ? No. In the midst of all these adventures , I ended up late my research and can not prepare for my next lesson.
Since I ' was on a research project set up, I was able to cope with risk and return my schedule. But if you are among those who are easily distracted and can not make his way back to study, give thought to your priorities.
Here are some simple tips to help you focus of study :
1 . Set objectives for learning
First, start with the basics and set your learning objectives. Ask yourself why you are here at the university, you ( like me) have traveled all over the world the opportunity. Fun is definitely an answer, but not the most important . Know your target job half done .
2 . Make a plan of study
Once you know what you want , the next step is to prepare a program of weekly study . Establish a routine for everything. Your program may include the time needed to go to bed , you need to time your meals, and - most importantly - the time should be spent on research . There are no hard and fast rules , and you must , of course, allow for some flexibility depending on how things go. But to create a routine is essential, and try to meet the timetable of your learning in the best possible way.
3 . Learning to say no
Now , I'm not asking you to give all your social activities , but you have to take a bold step . If you dinner every day , it is better to limit it to one day a week , which will help you save a bit ' of money. If you go to the movies every week , try to cut once in two weeks. If someone asks you to go with them to hang out at the mall, when you know you need to study and tell them that you are busy - and let them know when the weather will be better. In short, learn to say no when you know that you really need .
4 . Focus on your priorities
Self-help is the key here . No one else stop you from doing what you want, but you're the one who will face the consequences if you fail to achieve your goals . Remember that you are in school for a reason, and that reason , if nothing else you will lose will match each equation .
What should I do to stay focused is to keep a diary for me. I wrote all the learning goals and my priorities in it, and when I have free time ( while waiting for the train or on the road and at bedtime ) , I have a vision. You can do the same , or even a poster on the wall of your room.
Follow these tips and research will focus on your goal and you'll find that you feel more confident about your research - and can still enjoy all the other aspects of student life .
Exam Preparation: Ten Study Tips
1 . Give yourself enough time to study
Do not leave it until the last minute . While some students seem to thrive on last minute "cramming " is commonly accepted that for most of us, it is not the best way to approach an exam. Establish a timetable for the investigation. Enter the number of exams you have, and you have to sit on it. Then organize your research accordingly. You might want to give some exam study time more than others, so find a balance where you feel comfortable.
Two. Organize your study space
Make sure you have enough room to spread textbook and notes out . Do you have enough light? Is your chair comfortable? Computer games out of sight ?
Try to remove all distractions and make sure you feel comfortable and able to concentrate better . For some people it may mean that the almost absolute silence, for others, the soundtrack helps. Some of us have everything perfectly neat and organized to focus, while others are developed in a more volatile environment. Think about what works for you, and take the time to make things right.
Three . Use charts and graphs
Visual aids can be very useful when changed. When you start a thread , challenged himself to record everything they already know about a subject - and then highlight where there are gaps. Closer examination , condense your notes on the revised page graphic. Get your ideas in this format map and can quickly help you remember everything you need to know for the exam.
April. Practice exams in the old
One of the most effective ways to prepare for the exam is to participate in practice earlier. This will help you familiarize yourself with the question format , and - if you give your time - could also be good practice to ensure that you use the amount of time in each section.
May Explain your answer to another
Parents and younger brother and sister do not have to be annoying for the exam ! Use it to your advantage . The explanations of the answers to your questions . It will help you make it clear in your head , and also to highlight areas where more work is needed .

While you may think that it is best to study as many hours as possible , this may actually be counterproductive. If you are training for a race , it will attempt to run 24 hours a day! Similarly , studies have shown that long-term to maintain the knowledge , frequent breaks really helps.
Each person is different , and thus develop a study routine that works for you. If you learn best in the morning, starting early before the lunch break . Or if you are more efficient at night, rest more than before, so you 're ready to settle down at night to go.
Try not to feel guilty for enjoying the sun instead of leaning their textbooks. Remember Vitamin D is important for healthy brain!
August. Snack food for the brain "

The same goes for test day - eat a meal before the test , which is based on foods that provide a slow release of energy throughout . Sugar may seem attractive , but it will not help when your energy levels down an hour later.
9 . Plan your test day
Make sure to get everything ready long before the test - do not leave it for a day before suddenly realize that you do not know how or what to wear . To review all rules and requirements and route planning and travel time. If possible , test ride , if not, write clear guidelines .
Working in the time it will take to get to it - then add a little more time. You really do not want to have to run halfway or feel exhausted from losing their way . You can also plan to travel to the test with their friends or classmates , as long as you know you are able to right now!
10th . Drink lots of water
As a final tip , remember that hydration is essential for the brain to function at its best . Be sure to keep drinking plenty of water during its amendments , as well as during the test.
